    taytum riley
lol wtf is this guy talking about?? how is he unaware that EVERYONE f-cking hates riley???
there's a million reasons to hate riley.

    - he's a lug. he weighs down every single scene and not in a good way.

    - his thoughts on right and wrong are so rigid. he judges willow for dating a werewolf.

    - he comes off as a good guy and thinks of himself as such but in reality he is completely threatened by a woman that is stronger than him...so that
the runs off to be sucked off by a vamp.

    - he constantly BLAMES buffy for his own insecurity--- he cannot stand that a strong woman doesn't NEED him all the time. he uses that as an excuse to go 'feel' something with the vamp.

    - he gives buffy an ultimatum to get over him or he'll leave.

    - he doesnt have good chemistry with buffy. it can be argued that this could be that the actors dont have good chemistry or it could be the two characters are written to purposely not be like the red-hot angel/buffy relationship was.

all in all, my personal problem with riley is that he is such a rigid person. but i understand he is written to be this way. this does not mean i ever like seeing him on screen, though. he is not fun to watch the way angel and spike are. and i think that is the point. he is the rebound guy- dependable and dull...but ultimately another evil dressed up to be innocent.

i think there's a natural inclination to hate lovers that come off innocent but end up being way more nefarious in their complete lack of self-awareness. and that is riley. completely lacking self-awareness.
